Job Role: Asbestos Surveyor
Job Location: North Northamptonshire Council
Salary: £28 Per Hour
Working period: Monday - Friday 09:00 - 17:30
Working Hours: 37 hours per week
Assignment period: 3-6 Months Ongoing
Job Summary:
North Northamptonshire Council is seeking a qualified and experienced Asbestos Surveyor to join our Environmental Services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough asbestos surveys, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and providing expert advice to ensure the safety of council properties and the community.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct detailed asbestos surveys in council properties and public buildings, including management and demolition surveys.
Identify, assess, and record the presence of asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) and prepare comprehensive reports.
Provide guidance on the management of ACMs, including recommendations for remediation or monitoring.
Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure safe working practices during maintenance and renovation activities.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance, and best practices related to asbestos management.
Assist in the development and implementation of the council’s asbestos management plan.
Conduct training and awareness sessions for council staff regarding asbestos safety and compliance.
Respond to inquiries from the public and other agencies regarding asbestos-related concerns.
Maintain accurate records and databases related to asbestos surveys and findings.
Qualifications:
NEBOSH Certificate in Asbestos Management or equivalent qualification.
Relevant experience in asbestos surveying and management.
Knowledge of current asbestos regulations and best practices.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driving license and willingness to travel across North Northamptonshire.
