Are you an Art Teacher looking to develop into Leadership? An experienced Teacher looking for a new opportunity?
Reed Education Southampton are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Head of Art and Photography to fulfil a permanent, full-time position within a ’Good’ Secondary school, based in Andover!
The school has an excellent reputation within the local community, boasting fantastic facilities including a Multi-Use Games Area, recently refurbished library and gymnasium, expansive grounds and so much more! They have recently opened their renovated ’Inclusion Space’ which has bespoke classrooms and break-out space for their nurture and SEND students. The school pride themselves on a culture of high support and expectations, and have excellent relationships with families and the community who work closely with the school.
As the Head of Art and Photography, you will be responsible for leading the department and ensuring that all teachers are in position to provide all students with an excellent education. You will be an excellent practitioner, with the ability to lead, coach and support others to be excellent teachers too! You will set a clear and strategic vision for the department, design and delivery a stimulating and engaging curriculum, and implement department-wide strategies to ensure all students enjoy and excel within the subject.
For this role, you will be/need:
*Qualified Teacher Status with a specialism in Art/Photography
*Proven track record of being an exceptional teacher, with experience making a positive impact on student performance
*Proven track record of leading staff
*A deep knowledge of the subject and the curriculum
*Strong organisational and time-management skills, and the ability to delegate appropriately.
*High Levels of emotional intelligence, with a patient and supportive manner towards students.
