Your new role
As the Transport Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the management of 47 vans, 31 rigids, 7 units, and 1 tug. Your role will involve planning and executing the transport operation plan, ensuring all vehicles and drivers comply with legal and regulatory standards. You will manage driver schedules, vehicle maintenance, and ensure the highest standards of safety and efficiency are met. Your leadership will be crucial in maintaining budgeted costs, planning for peak periods, and ensuring the smooth operation of the transport department.
What you’ll need to succeed
Qualifications: Transport Manager CPC National Certificate, IOSH Qualified.
Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years in a Transport Management position with excellent knowledge of legal compliance, drivers’ hours, and WTDs.
Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, experience with transport management systems and tachograph analysis, and the ability to manage a busy 24/7 operation.
