The Governance Specialist role:
As a Data Governance Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining data governance policies, ensuring compliance with GDPR and other relevant regulations, and establishing best practices for data lineage and data quality across the organisation. This role is essential to shaping the integrity, security, and reliability of our client’s data assets, making a measurable impact on business operations and customer satisfaction.
Data Governance Specialist - Key Responsibilities:
*Design, implement, and manage data governance frameworks, policies, and standards to support regulatory compliance and data quality.
*Develop and oversee data lineage and data ownership processes, ensuring transparency and accountability across data handling.
*Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed data governance practices into business and operational processes.
*Monitor and enforce GDPR compliance and other data protection regulations, serving as the subject matter expert.
*Conduct data audits, establish data quality metrics, and ensure data is managed to a high standard.
*Create training and awareness programs to ensure team members understand and adhere to data governance policies.
Data Governance Specialist - Essential Skills:
*Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a data governance or similar role, with proven expertise in data management and governance practices.
*Comprehensive knowledge of data lineage, data policies, GDPR, and data quality management.
*Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.
*Must be a UK citizen or have EU Settled Status/Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR).
