Job Description:
LV Recruitment has partnered with an academic establishment based in the heart of Oxford and is recruiting for a full-time and permanent Assistant Accountant to join their small and close-knit team.
This established department has created the Assistant Accountant role to support the College Accountant and to lead the accounting function, ensuring a smooth operation.
The role of Assistant Accountant reports to the College Accountant and is a crucial position within the department.
Responsibilities
*Budgeting & reporting, Monthly management accounts, quarterly VAT & supporting with the annual budget and in-year forecasts
*Finance and process systems, process & system improvement. Develop internal control procedures for main and specialist transactions such as student fees, grants & bursaries.
Experience
*Professional Accounting qualification (ideally ACA/ACCA)
*Recent experience within a similar role
*Excellent IT skills
*Flexible and supportive attitude with a desire to lead by example
*Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Previous experience within another college is not essential. This role would suit someone who perhaps wants to move out of practice or from a charitable organisation or a commercial role. The most important thing is the management style and fit for this loyal team.
