A highly successful manufacturing business has partnered with the team at NET Recruit, to support their search for a Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor to join the team working in the Bournemouth area.
The company have described this role as a hands on role to get stuck in and have a real positive impact on the production activities of the team by developing processes, ensuring resources are in place and setting out instructions to allow teams to product components to meet customer demand and leading by example with hard work and dedication in practical production tasks.
Your Roles and Responsibilities:
*Managing and developing the manufacturing engineering team in order to meet business production needs, whilst focussing on increasing capacity and reducing costs as well as reporting unsafe practices through the correct channels as soon as they are identified
*Leading projects in relation to process and new equipment implementation
*Supporting vertical integration and the in-sourcing of purchased parts, with regard for current capability and capacity
*Seeking ways to improve processes with new strategies for tooling with the aim of improving yield and reducing cycle time
*Developing programs for CNC machines for the manufacture of components
*Researching and purchasing cutting tools for both current and new component production
*Collaborating with the production team to proof new components and allow the implementation into the site with the aim of minimal disruption
*Reviewing and amending manufacturing layouts for the team of production operatives to follow and developing instructions for operating which can include layouts, inspection guides and MIPs, alongside equipment specifications to support production
*Providing front line support for errors with the machines and programs, ensuring these are escalated to the maintenance team as it is required
*Delivering engineering support on activities concerning production and maintenance, which could include minor machine maintenance
*Replenishing tool vending machines as it is needed to support the needs of the production team and schedules and providing support on the purchasing of materials to meet requirements
What you will need to Apply:
The ideal candidate for this role will possess a HNC/D in Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, alongside at least 5 years of experience in a relevant role. Apprentice trained professionals will also be considered, as long as considerable experience is possessed. Experience relating to the role that will be coveted includes CNC programming languages (e.g.: Fanuc, Siemens, Mazatrol), as well as experience with 5-Axis millings/mill-turn and turning CNC machines, and also CAD/CAM (including 2D & 3D CAD systems). Additional familiarity with ERP systems and Microsoft Office is also needed. Candidates are expected to possess a good understanding of machine shop processes and be able to work well managing multiple projects under pressure. Excellent communication skills are a must.
