Edina specialises in the engineering, installation, and after-care support of low carbon gas-fired Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plants, fast response balancing peaking plants, and mission-critical standby diesel generation.
We employ over 200 staff across our international operations in the UK, Ireland, Australia, and India, managing a growing portfolio of almost 1GW electrical distributed generation.
For over 35 years, we have supported the growth of decentralised low carbon power generation, helping businesses improve energy efficiency, reduce emissions, and achieve cost savings, while enhancing power resilience as we collectively move towards net zero.
We are now looking for an Operations Engineer to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm).

The Role
As Operations Engineer, you will perform maintenance work on our heat and power solutions focusing on electrical systems.
Specifically, you will ensure electrical system reliability and performance and meet operational standards by diagnosing and resolving reactive maintenance tasks efficiently.
You will also work to optimise our operational processes, increasing productivity and reducing excess time and material use across our systems.
Additionally, you will:
- Diagnose faults
- Implement reactive maintenance work
- Carry out regular maintenance tasks to ensure installations run smoothly
- Participate in a 24-hour callout programme on a rota basis, including weekend and possible out-of-hours work
About You
To be considered as an Operations Engineer, you will need:
- At least three years’ industrial electrical experience as a competent time-served technician
- In-depth knowledge of PLC systems used in gas/diesel engines and strong skills as a competent electrician
- Effective IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office packages
- A minimum ONC, NVQ Level II, or City & Guilds Level 2 qualification in electrical engineering, motor vehicle studies, or equivalent
- A full, valid driving licence
