Job Description:
Have you ever thought that your scheduling skills could save lives?
As one of the world’s largest Clinical Research Organizations, Fortrea operates four ultramodern Clinical Research Units in the UK and US. Our crown jewel is Drapers Yard in Leeds—a brand-new, state-of-the-art 65,000 ft² clinic with 100 beds, fully dedicated to Phase I clinical research, just a 7-minute walk from the train station!
Our clinic is expanding, and we’re looking for our next Team Operations Scheduler.
*This is a 12-month contract,
*Office-based, full-time, with 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday during business hours,
*Overtime may be required based on business needs, compensated with either flexi time or enhanced pay.
ON A TYPICAL DAY, YOU WILL…
Work in International Phase 1 clinical trials, where the key question we all work to answer here in Drapers Yard is: Is the new medicine safe?
Under this framework, you will be responsible for day-to-day planning and coordinating the allocation of key teams´ personnel to the different clinical projects, ensuring all clinical procedures and participant safety activities are covered 24/7. You will:
*Review study tasks daily to assess staffing needs, scheduling team members accordingly to always meet study specific requirements.
*Develop and maintain detailed shift rotas covering over 50 colleagues from various teams (physicians, nurses, Lab Techs, screening, etc.)
*Manage emergencies swiftly ensuring the clinic is always staffed.
*Handle staff PTO, holiday request, school schedules, sick leaves and any other scheduling issues.
*Coordinate with the Planning Team and the Clinic´s Leadership to align staffing needs with project timelines.
*Contribute to weekly logistics meetings, discussing staffing needs and study requirements.
Additionally, you will perform the following study procedures: blood withdrawal, taking vital signs and ECG when needed.
WHO YOU ARE
*Educated to GCSE level.
The most important aspect for us is you bring experience in a scheduling role, ideally planning and scheduling diaries, rotas and shifts for large teams.
*Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure: we must always ensure the dignity and safety of participants, and in our clinical environment last-minute changes are common, so you will need to assemble the right team to respond quickly and effectively.
*You also need to be confident, being comfortable, for instance, asking colleagues to adjust shifts or take on additional work at a short notice.
*MS Office Suite proficiency, especially in Excel as you will use it daily for running reports. Excel skills with formulas and formatting are important in this job.
While not required, background in Clinical Trials or Healthcare may be a plus, and we have a robust training program in place for you to learn the specifics of our operations.
If you are not familiar with blood extraction, taking vitals or using ECGs, don’t worry -we´ll train you. However, you should be comfortable with needles and handling biological or radiolabeled materials.
WHY FORTREA?
Apply now and be part of something extraordinary: only our Leeds site will offer you the opportunity to witness firsthand new medicines being researched in real time. When the drug you worked on gets approved, you´ll know you´ve made a global impact on patient´s lives around the world.
Embark on a fulfilling journey with us as we pursue our mission "To help make life-changing healthcare solutions possible".
