Job Description:
Join our client, a dynamic and forward-thinking police force, as a Commercial Contract Manager. In this permanent role, you’ll play a crucial role in managing commercial and contract management strategies to support the Force’s strategic aims and objectives. PLEASE NOTE DUE TO POLICE VETTING CRITERIA YOU MUST HAVE RESIDED WITHIN THE UK CONTINUOUSLY FOR AT LEAST 5 YEARS AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION.
In this role, you’ll demonstrate your expertise in procurement by managing all aspects of category management and delivering quantifiable procurement efficiencies. You’ll lead and manage procurement projects, ensuring their effective delivery in line with customer requirements and timescales. Your ability to negotiate and construct procurement contracts will be crucial, as you work to protect the Force from financial and reputational risk.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage force procurement projects, delivering projects on time and within budget
Develop and maintain strong partnerships with key suppliers to share risks and benefits
Deliver procurement savings plans for specific categories, ensuring cashable efficiencies are identified and reported
Negotiate and influence stakeholders to ensure compliant contracts are achieved
Identify collaborative opportunities for regional and national procurement projects to drive savings and efficiencies
Manage the performance of contracts and ensure customer requirements are met or exceeded
Develop and implement sustainable procurement strategies to increase public confidence
To succeed in this role, you’ll ideally have relevant experience in managing all aspects of category management and procurement efficiency. Holding a Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Diploma, as well as full corporate membership (MCIPS), will be highly advantageous. Your knowledge of procurement legislation and experience in negotiating and managing contracts will be crucial in this role.
