Are you a skilled Buyer with a keen eye for detail and experience in managing supplier relationships? We are excited to recruit for our client in Marden, who is seeking a Buyer to enhance their procurement processes and support production goals. About the Role
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Buyer will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery of parts and materials to meet production targets. The role involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating cost-effective agreements, and ensuring stock levels align with demand forecasts. You’ll collaborate closely with teams across Purchasing, Production, Engineering, and Finance.
Key Responsibilities
*Order Management: Interpret company requirements and generate purchase orders to support on-time delivery.
*Supplier Coordination: Assess and manage supplier suitability, negotiate terms, and conduct site visits as needed.
*Stock Analysis: Analyse buying patterns and trends, adjust stock levels, and ensure demand is met.
*Vendor Performance: Maintain supplier relationships, resolve quality issues, and report performance data.
*Cost Optimisation: Support cost-reduction initiatives, securing cost-effective agreements and identifying new suppliers.
*Data Management: Ensure high levels of accuracy in records, acting as the SAP Super User for purchasing.
*Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with Accounts to support budget planning and forecasting.
What Our Client is Looking For
*Experience: Background in purchasing or procurement, ideally within a manufacturing environment, with SAP or similar system experience.
*Skills: Strong negotiation, organisational, and communication skills, with attention to detail.
*Qualifications: CIPS qualification (or working towards it) is preferred; alternatively, relevant experience.
*Attributes: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, commitment to accuracy, and a proactive approach.
