Job Description:
Immediate start - Special Needs Teaching Assistant to support a mixed age range of children with moderate to severe learning difficulties within the Alternative Learning Provision of a Havering School.
This role would suit somebody with the confidence to work in a team and have experience/ knowledge of working with children that have ASD, Challenging Behaviour, Verbal and Non Verbal.
Monday to Friday - 8.30am - 3.30pm
For the Special Needs Teaching Assistant role :
*To work with a mixed age range of SEN children with Autism, Challenging Behaviour, Verbal & Non Verbal.
*Managing the children’s behaviour and employing de-escalation skills when required.
*Able to identify & manage triggers and traits.
*To work in a team alongside the class teacher with the children’s learning and development within the classroom.
*Team Teach trained would ideally be essential or be prepared to be trained in this area.
*Knowledge and experience of PECS, Makaton or Flash Cards
*L2/L3 Teaching Assistant, Care or SEND qualification.
