Job Description:

*Fully remote (UK) opportunity, exciting ClimateTech leader.
Python Developer required to join a scaling ClimateTech organisation developing cutting-edge solutions for the ecology space. This forward-thinking start-up help people to better understand changes to biodiversity using machine learning and are looking for someone who is passionate about nature/the environment to have a positive impact on the planet and join their team.
What skills you’ll be needing
*Extensive experience in python backend development and frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, SQLAlchemy, etc).
*Solid experience with database design, management, and optimization (e.g. PostgreSQL, NoSQL, solutions).
*Proficiency in building RESTful APIs and working with cloud services (e.g. AWS, GCP, or Azure).
*Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker) and CI/CD pipelines.
*Understanding of security best practices for backend development.
*Experience working in an agile development environment.
*Passion for environmental impact and building technology that drives positive change.
Nice to Haves
*Experience with Machine Learning, Data Science and Data analytics platforms
*Knowledge of modern data processing tools or real-time data systems.
*Experience managing a Backend Development Team
*Familiarity with ecology, environmental science, or related industries.
What you’ll be doing
As back-end developer you will be working closely with other developers and product teams to develop the core infrastructure that powers the platform. This will include ensuring seamless data integration and strong backend architecture. You will create solutions that are efficient, scalable and of high quality whilst contributing to the evolution of the platform. A key focus will be developing and optimising APIs for internal and external use and ensuring the security, quality and performance of applications through testing, code reviews and proactive monitoring. You’ll be able to contribute to the architectural decisions as they continue to scale and there will be opportunities to help evaluate machine learning solutions.
