Position Overview
Careers Plus are partnered with an organisation based in Glasgow who are looking to recruit an IT Security Analyst. In this position you’ll play a critical role in safeguarding the companies systems, networks, and data. You’ll monitor security incidents, conduct risk assessments, and support the implementation of security measures. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with threat detection tools, incident response, and a keen analytical mindset.
Key Responsibilities
*Monitor security alerts, investigate potential threats, and respond to incidents promptly.
*Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and risk analyses.
*Assist in the implementation of security policies, protocols, and best practices.
*Collaborate with IT and other departments to resolve vulnerabilities and maintain compliance.
*Keep up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and mitigation strategies.
Qualifications
*Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
*Proven experience in IT security, cybersecurity, or a related role.
*Strong knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and SIEM tools.
*Understanding of risk management frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
*Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
*Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+.
*Experience with scripting or programming (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
*Familiarity with cloud security practices (AWS, Azure, etc.)
