About the Role:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to join a well-established SEN school. This is a full-time, temp-to-perm opportunity, providing the chance to make a positive impact on the lives of students with a range of additional learning needs.
As an SEN Teacher, you will work with a diverse cohort of students, supporting their academic and personal development in a nurturing and tailored learning environment. You will be responsible for planning and delivering individualised lesson plans, adapting resources to meet the unique needs of each student, and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of support staff, therapists, and specialists.
Key Responsibilities of an SEN Teacher:
*Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons tailored to students with varying learning needs.
*Assess and monitor students’ progress, providing detailed feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
*Adapt teaching strategies and resources to ensure accessibility and inclusivity.
*Foster a positive, supportive, and respectful classroom environment.
*Collaborate with support staff and external agencies to develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs).
*Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current educational practices, SEN policies, and best practices in inclusive education.
*Provide guidance and support to students, promoting their emotional and social well-being.
Requirements:
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
*Experience working with students with special educational needs, ideally in an SEN setting.
*Experience as an SEN Teacher
*A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to teaching.
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
*Commitment to professional development and a willingness to engage in training to enhance your SEN expertise.
*Knowledge and understanding of relevant SEN frameworks and legislation.
