Job Description:
About the Role:
Our client is seeking an organised and proactive Bookkeeper to join their finance team in Macclesfield. In this role, you’ll oversee essential accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, cash posting, and revenue management. Working closely with the Credit Control team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate financial processing and supporting the business’s financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable (AP):
*Process and manage supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
*Reconcile supplier statements, ensuring financial records are accurate.
*Accrue for anticipated invoices to ensure accurate period-end reporting.
Accounts Receivable (AR):
*Post incoming payments, correctly allocating them against outstanding invoices.
*Conduct daily and monthly bank reconciliations, promptly addressing any discrepancies.
*Provide up-to-date reporting on customer account status and aged debts.
Revenue Management:
*Ensure accurate revenue recognition in line with accounting standards.
*Maintain and report on revenue timelines for accurate period-end reporting.
Data Reconciliation:
*Ensure sales data from HubSpot aligns with financial records, working with the sales and finance teams to resolve discrepancies.
General Financial Tasks:
*Support month-end and year-end closing, preparing management reports as needed.
*Prepare cash flow summaries and financial statements.
*Assist with audit processes as required.
Payroll Administration:
*Work with Sales Directors to prepare sales commissions for payroll.
*Coordinate monthly payroll submissions with Directors for the payroll bureau.
Skills and Qualifications:
*Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or Accounts Assistant, with knowledge of AP, AR, and general accounting.
*Skilled in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and CRM platforms (e.g., HubSpot) for data reconciliation.
*Strong understanding of accounting principles, including accruals, revenue recognition, and reconciliations.
*Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
*Highly detail-oriented with excellent organisational and time-management skills.
Preferred:
*AAT qualification or working towards it.
*Experience in reconciling CRM data with financial records.
*Background in a similar role within a small or medium-sized business.
