Job Description:
We are recruiting for a Financial Controller on behalf of a leading transport & logistics company in Bridgwater.
Duties
*Reporting to the Finance Director, will be responsible for all financial reporting and regulatory compliance across the group.
*Deputy management responsibility for Credit control and wider accounts team as required.
*Overarching responsibility of company and departmental monthly journals, accruals and payments where required, ensuring all transactions are accounted for and coded correctly on a timely basis in preparation for month and year end reporting.
*Take charge of monthly closing reporting processes, deftly preparing consolidated management accounts where required. Demonstrate financial reporting skills, presenting these accounts and ensuring accountability to all stakeholders.
*Maintaining and updating of cash flow forecasts. Consider best treasury practice to maximise cash flows.
*Ensure all lease invoices are correctly accounted for and fleet financing is organised where required.
*Coordinate with Accounts and Payroll Team to ensure payroll and benefit processing and reporting meets company, audit and regulatory requirements.
*Oversee VAT related claims and government grants where required. Review quarterly VAT returns.
*Ensure all relevant reporting requirements are met and to participate in company-wide accounting related projects and audits where required.
*Participate in the development and management of company accounting systems and associated software, coaching others in their application where required.
*To take the lead on forecasts and budgeting processes for the group working in collaboration with other departments and with the Financial Director to form the basis of any initial budget figures annually and longer term.
