Job Title: Buyer
Location: Cannock
I have an exciting opportunity for a buyer to join my client in Cannock. In this role, the buyer will play a key part in supporting the Chief Buyer with commercial strategies and procurement functions, ensuring cost efficiencies and compliance with Group policies and procedures.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven individual to help shape procurement strategies in line with business growth and direction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development of a cost-control and value-added culture within the company.
- Follow robust processes to control costs across all divisions via the supply chain.
- Assist with the procurement lifecycle of the business, including product development and materials management.
- Prepare and issue enquiries for materials and selected subcontractor services.
- Lead supplier negotiations to secure favourable terms and conditions.
- Help the commercial team prepare site budgets and manage full material pre-start budgets for approval.
- Oversee daily order requirements and resolve any monthly invoice queries.
- Manage take-offs and scheduling for bulk materials.
- Attend team meetings and site visits to support the production team and address procurement-related issues.
- Oversee hired plant requirements, including monitoring and reporting.
- Enforce adherence to product specifications and consistently conduct pricing exercises to explore new cost-saving opportunities.
- Review tender drawings and provide input on amendments or potential concerns.
- Build and maintain a strong portfolio of suppliers to support business needs.
