Parkside Recruitment are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Oxford. If you are an experienced engineer with a passion for sustainable design and a commitment to engineering excellence, this role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of exciting and meaningful projects.
Key Responsibilities:
*Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring they meet client expectations, deadlines, and budgets.
*Develop and implement sustainable mechanical design solutions, including HVAC systems, heating, cooling, and water supply infrastructure.
*Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines for an integrated design approach.
*Perform detailed calculations, simulations, and design work using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and IES.
*Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical direction and leadership.
*Prepare comprehensive technical reports, specifications, and project documentation.
*Participate in client meetings, site visits, and design workshops to ensure effective communication and project management.
*Stay informed on the latest industry trends, regulations, and sustainable technologies, incorporating best practices in your work.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
*Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or equivalent.
*Chartered Engineer status or working towards it (membership in CIBSE, IMechE, or equivalent).
*Proven experience (5+ years) in mechanical engineering design in building services or construction.
*In-depth knowledge of mechanical building services, including HVAC and water systems.
*Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and IES.
*Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a strong ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
*Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
*Passion for sustainability and commitment to low-energy, environmentally responsible design solutions.
Desirable:
*Experience in BREEAM, WELL, or LEED certified projects.
*Familiarity with renewable energy systems and low-carbon technologies.
