Leading the Estimating Team in driving project delivery and providing estimating support with bids and contracts.
Providing post award support to Operations and Commercial teams, ensuring comprehension of tender model costs and pricing.

An opportunity is now available for an Estimating Manager to join the business at this exciting time of growth, to support the delivery of ongoing projects for water infrastructure as part of a major infrastructure capital investment plan for Scotland.
Description
The Estimating Manager will be responsible for driving project delivery through innovation and sustainable solutions, providing estimating support with bids and contracts to ensure robust pricing, risk management and effective governance and regulatory controls.
Key responsibilities:
*Report and advise Senior Management Team on commercial influences and risks around any bids
*Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to produce accurate and timely estimates
*To ensure supplier terms are consistent with delivery of client requirements and assess identify. mitigate risk impact
*Supporting team in managing work flow and ensure timely results to meet business requirements
*Day to day liaison with, and influencing of, key stakeholders, such as customers and operational colleagues
*Develop and implement changes to process to improve performance as required
*Provide post award support to the Ops and Commercial teams, ensuring tender model and pricing is understood
*Travelling to sites to ascertain scope of works as & when required
Profile
To be considered for this role you will:
*Be degree qualified in engineering, Quantity Surveying, cost & planning OR be Qualified by Experience i.e bring considerable Industry experience
*Have proven experience of estimating in the utilities sector (preferably delivering water and/or waste water projects)
*Demonstrate the following:

*Effective communication and negotiating skills
*Excellent people management skills
*Ability and desire to identify opportunities to influence positive change
*Agility to react to constant workloads and delegate accordingly
*Commercial and contractual knowledge and understanding of various forms of NEC Contracts (Options A to E)
*Able to follow process and governance
*Able to present and use planning and visual software applications
*Knowledge of estimating tools and techniques
*Knowledge of estimating software packages
