Accounts Assistant
Salary: £28,750 per annum.
The Role:
We are looking for a highly numerate, self-motivated person to join our accounts team and help with both Group Purchase Ledger - processing invoices, making payments and general accounting duties and Royalties - create, maintain and reconcile royalty accounting records, and raise sales invoices for Sub-rights. The Royalties department is a key part of the back office in a publishing company; they ensure that our authors are correctly paid for books we sell.
This will be a varied role ranging from basic clerical work such as data entry to challenging checking and reconciliations and assisting the Group Purchase Ledger team.
In terms of specific tasks, you will be responsible for updating data in our SAGE 200 accounting software and Royalties system. You will also process, code, and authorise supplier invoices, credit card and personal expenses, and bank payments.
Skills and Experience Required:
The ideal candidate will be very familiar with a Windows environment and have a solid knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with Sage 200, Google Docs and Sheets is also beneficial. A good multitasker who has the ability to work under their own initiative is crucial. Strong communication skills and a good team player are essential.
This is a full-time position based in our Harlow office, requiring you to work four days a week (Monday to Thursday) in the office, with one day working from home (Friday).
This is a permanent position, and there may be opportunities for future roles, including the potential for supported study towards accountancy qualifications.
