Project Accountant

Job Description:
I am delighted to be recruiting for a market leader in their sector on their search for a newly created project accountant to join their team!
The core purpose of this role is to improve the connectivity between the finance department and the customer facing business units in order to ensure accurate information and improved programme performance alongside accurate costing and compliance with internal controls.
This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, the ability to communicate effectively across functions and organisational levels and the capability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
Day to day duties will include:
*Overseeing all financial aspects of assigned projects, from budgeting and forecasting to monitoring actuals and variances.
*Be a key member of the delivery teams providing financial insights and challenges to current and future projects
*Ensure accurate and timely recording of project related financial transactions in compliance with IFRS and company policies.
*Support on preparation of business wide bottom-up financial annual budget.
*Provide inputs for a rolling 5 year business plan.
*Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive project execution and financial management
*Act as a key point of contact for project mangers and other stakeholders regarding financial matters.
*Support on monthly accounts, statutory accounts including audit queries.
Key competencies:
*Experience in business partnering
*Competence in budgeting and planning accuracy
*General commercial awareness
*Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with stakeholders at all levels (internal & external).
*Ability to work independently and take ownership and responsibility for assigned task and their outcome.
*Ability to delegate and to work as part of a team (internally as well as interdepartmental).
