Job Description:
Accounts Assistant (Credit Controller)
Crawley, UK
Up to £32,000 per annum
Key Responsibilities:
*Monitor and manage customer accounts to ensure timely collection of outstanding payments.
*Conduct regular follow-up calls and correspondence to collect overdue invoices.
*Reconcile customer accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
*Process credit applications, assess creditworthiness, and set credit limits for new and existing clients.
*Prepare and distribute monthly account statements and reports for management review.
*Liaise with internal teams and external customers to handle account queries effectively.
*Assist in month-end close processes and ensure accurate reporting of receivables.
*Support ad-hoc finance projects and assist the Finance Manager as needed.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
*Previous experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or a related finance role.
*Strong communication and negotiation skills with a customer-focused approach.
*Proficiency in accounting software (experience with Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage is a plus).
*Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
*Good knowledge of MS Excel and general ledger functions.
