About The Role:
The Healthcare Assistant will assist clinical staff with patient preparation, conduct basic health assessments, and perform phlebotomy. As an essential member of our Front of House team, they are committed to creating a welcoming and efficient experience for all patients and visitors. Their primary goal is to ensure seamless clinic operations, always prioritising patient well-being and satisfaction.
Key Accountabilities:
*Prepare patients and take basic observations (e.g., blood pressure, temperature, weight) to assist clinical staff to support high-quality patient care.
*Bring proven experience as a phlebotomist to support clinical procedures and ensure safe and accurate blood collection.
*Assist with minor medical procedures, including support during cases of cervical shock, to aid clinical staff and ensure safe, effective treatment.
*Provide basic patient education on pre- and post-care instructions to empower patients to understand and follow their treatment plans.
*Maintain organised and clean examination rooms that meet CQC and health and safety standards, ensuring a hygienic environment.
*Welcome and assist patients at the front desk to ensure a friendly and efficient start to their visit.
*Manage appointment bookings and patient check-ins online, in-person, and over the phone, inputting them into the clinic system to maintain an organised and seamless patient flow.
*Provide administrative support and maintain patient records in clinic databases to ensure accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations.
*Work 1-2 Saturdays per month as per the clinic schedule to provide consistent weekend services for patients.
Skills, Experience and Attributes:
*Experience as a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) or a qualified Physician Associate.
*Proven experience as a Phlebotomist
*Ability to multitask and stay organised in a busy clinic setting.
*Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and maintaining confidentiality.
*Preparedness to work on 1-2 Saturdays per month.
