About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and dynamic school community in Tottenham. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work one-on-one and in small groups with students who have a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, sensory impairments, and physical disabilities. Some of these students also require medical support throughout the school day, so experience or willingness to train in medical assistance is essential.
Key Responsibilities
*Provide tailored academic and social support to students with diverse needs, helping them to engage fully in school life.
*Support students with medical needs as required, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
*Collaborate closely with the SENCO, teaching staff, and therapists to implement individualized education and healthcare plans.
*Help create an inclusive, positive classroom atmosphere where every student feels valued.
*Engage in training as necessary to provide high-quality care and support to students with specific medical needs.
What this school is Looking For
Experience: Previous experience working with children with SEN and/or medical needs in an educational setting is highly desirable.
Qualifications: A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is preferred but not essential. Relevant training in first aid or medical assistance is a plus.
Skills: Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills are essential. You should be able to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
Flexibility: A proactive attitude and ability to adapt to the evolving needs of the students and the school.
