Assistant Accountant | Growing Tech Start-Up | Manchester / Hybrid

Harmonic is excited to collaborate with an innovative tech start-up based in Manchester, on the lookout for an Assistant Accountant to join their expanding team. As they scale, they’re looking for a motivated and proactive Assistant Accountant to help streamline their financial operations and support the broader business in reaching its next milestones.
The Role
In this pivotal role, you’ll be responsible for supporting the financial management of a fast-paced and growing tech start-up. You will work closely with different teams across the business, overseeing project finances, budgeting, invoicing, and month-end reporting. The position offers excellent exposure to the wider business and provides a chance to contribute directly to the company’s growth and financial efficiency.
You’ll work closely with senior leadership, acting as a trusted finance partner across various departments, ensuring financial transparency and supporting key business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
*Prepare and issue invoices for clients on a monthly basis
*Perform reconciliations for ongoing and past projects
*Collaborate with the external finance team to assist with cash flow forecasting and financial projections
*Manage company bank payments and oversee day-to-day financial processes
*Support the creation of new contracts and financial agreements
*Build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders
*Monitor and manage project budgets, working to maximise profitability and operational efficiency
*Assist with ad-hoc finance-related tasks as required
What We’re Looking For
*A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar finance or accounting role
*Strong Excel skills and a strong understanding of financial data analysis
*Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact across different teams
*High attention to detail and organisational skills
*A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering results
Nice to Have
*Previous experience in a tech start-up or fast-growing company
*Exposure to financial operations in small or medium-sized businesses
*Interest or experience in the technology sector
*Passion for working in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Manchester (Hybrid / Flexible - 3 days per week in the office)
