Senior Social Worker
St. Helens Metropolitan Borough Council
Pay Rate: Up to £44 per hour
About the Role:
We’re seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Social Worker to join our Children’s Services team at St. Helens Metropolitan Borough Council. This role will involve working with complex cases, including Children in Need, Child Protection, Looked After Children, and Care Proceedings.
Key Responsibilities:
*Lead and manage a caseload of complex cases.
*Conduct thorough assessments and develop effective care plans.
*Represent the local authority in court proceedings.
*Provide supervision and support to junior social workers.
*Work collaboratively with other professionals, including health, education, and police.
*Ensure adherence to safeguarding procedures and legislation.
*Promote the rights and best interests of children.
Essential Requirements:
*Social Work England registration.
*Relevant social work qualifications (Degree or Diploma level).
*Significant experience working with complex cases in children’s social work.
*Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
*Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
