Data Engineer - Manchester

My client is a well-established software house in Manchester who are going through a big growth phase and as part of a large recruitment drive are now looking to hire 2 more Data Engineers into the team.
The roles are based near Salford Quays, walking distance from tram stops and offers free onsite parking. The positions offer hybrid working with generally 2 or 3 days in the office.
As a Data Engineer you will be responsible for designing, developing and owning data feeds which enhance the value of the current client offering.
You will be involved in creative and detailed analysis of the data reported from millions of mobile devices located across the globe to determine what is possible, what is feasible and input into the client’s product roadmap.
The role involves using Big Data technologies such as AWS, Apache Spark and Amazon Athena as well as this you shall be working in the following tech environment:
*AWS
*Python
*Java
*Scala
*SQL
*Apache
We are looking for a candidate with several years commercial experience in a Data Engineering role, with a computer science degree and an understanding of programming languages such as Python or Java. A degree is not essential if you have previous commercial experience.
