Job Description:
Join an award-nominated Audit team in a top 40 accountancy firm. This role offers hands-on experience, development opportunities, and work-life balance. As an Audit Assistant Manager, you’ll take on larger, more complex audit jobs, lead planning and completion, and guide Trainees and Apprentices, building your skills toward managerial responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
*80% audit work, 20% accounts.
*Lead audits for clients with turnovers up to £250 million, including specialised audits (e.g., FSA, pensions, charities).
*Prepare draft corporation tax computations, statutory accounts, and consolidated accounts.
*Support and train junior staff, and address technical accounting/auditing issues.
*Over time, take on a portfolio of audit and non-audit clients, manage client relationships, and supervise staff development.
*Contribute to audit team improvement and assist with business development.
Requirements:
*ACA or ACCA qualified
*Previous experience in a Chartered Practice, ideally with exposure to diverse clients, including pension schemes, LLPs, FCA-regulated entities, and charities.
*Comfortable with audit and accounts preparation for turnovers up to £40 million.
*Strong technical knowledge of FRS 102, FRS 105 (IFRS knowledge is a plus).
*Confident communicator with clients, staff, and partners.
*Hands-on, self-starter, with the ability to multitask and provide on-the-job training.
