We’re recruiting on behalf of a reputable manufacturer based in Tonbridge, Kent, seeking a skilled professional with at least two years of HGV/automotive fitting experience. This role offers the opportunity to apply your expertise in hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrics, contributing to the assembly of high-quality products built to industry-leading standards.
About the Role
As an Assembly Fitter, you’ll play a crucial role in assembling and testing hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. With a commitment to lean manufacturing, you’ll ensure each product is crafted with precision and efficiency. This is an exciting chance to be part of a team that prioritizes quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
*Fit and assemble fabricated parts and subassemblies
*Set up and test hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
*Install valves, pumps, motors, and hydraulic/pneumatic lines
*Perform fault diagnostics, basic electronic checks, and quality inspections
*Dismantle and repair faulty components as needed
*Use air tools and socket sets to ensure secure and accurate assemblies
*Support design and development tasks through engineering updates
*Provide training and support to peers and new team members
Requirements
*Minimum 2 years of HGV or automotive fitting experience
*Completed technical apprenticeship or equivalent training
*Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
*Demonstrable experience in assembly fitting with practical skills
*High attention to detail with a commitment to lean, efficient work practices
*Effective communication skills with a team-oriented approach
*Physically capable of managing demanding tasks, including working in confined spaces and lifting larger components
