Job Description:
The role focuses on managing investment risks within a portfolio of fixed-income assets for a Shareholder/Non-Profit portfolio. Responsibilities include oversight and challenging of fixed-income and derivative managers, maintaining a Derivative Risk Policy, and generating monthly management information (MI) reports. The role supports the Asset Liability Management (ALM) team in handling fixed income within the Matching Adjustment fund and provides SME support on rates, credit, and derivative risks.
Key tasks include ensuring compliance with policy standards for derivative operations across managers, handling weekly/monthly derivative reporting on liquidity, collateral, and counterparty exposure, and reviewing market practices for alignment with regulatory best standards. The role also involves identifying and addressing control weaknesses in risk and operational processes and ensuring consistent and standard working practices. Additionally, it supports the investment team, reports to the regulator as necessary, and ensures compliance with FCA and PRA standards.
Core competencies:
*Expertise in OTC derivatives risk and control.
*Effective communication at all levels, including Board-level engagement.
*Strong skills in stakeholder, customer, and people management.
*Project management, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
*Adaptable and organized.
Experience & Qualifications:
*Background in asset management/investment, ideally in life insurance or asset management.
*Deep knowledge of derivatives and investments, with familiarity in life assurance and pensions.
*Strong regulatory knowledge in the UK, particularly for life offices and bulk purchase annuities (preferred).
You will be required into the office 3 days a week which is non negotiable.
