About Us
Comanos is working with a leading consultancy focused on delivering clean, sustainable energy solutions and they are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join their team and support their growing portfolio of renewable energy clients and projects.
Role Overview
The Quantity Surveyor will play a critical role in managing project costs and ensuring that financial targets are met for renewable energy projects. This role will involve pre-contract cost planning, cost control, procurement, and contract administration, working closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
*Cost Estimation and Planning: Develop accurate cost estimates for renewable energy projects, considering labor, materials, equipment, and other factors.
*Procurement: Oversee the procurement process, including tendering, contract negotiation, and vendor management, ensuring cost-efficiency and compliance with project requirements.
*Budget Management: Monitor and manage project budgets to ensure costs are controlled throughout the project lifecycle.
*Cost Reporting: Prepare regular financial reports, highlighting variances and providing recommendations for cost control.
*Contract Administration: Manage contracts with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions and handling any variations or claims.
*Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize financial impact on projects.
*Collaboration: Work closely with the engineering and project management teams to ensure cost-effective project delivery and alignment with project goals.
*Compliance: Ensure all project activities comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Requirements
*Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
*Experience: 5 years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably working for a consultancy within the renewable energy or construction sectors.
*Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of cost estimation, budgeting, and contract management principles.
*Software Proficiency: Proficient in quantity surveying software and BIM (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, or similar) and MS Office Suite and using AutoCAD and reviewing design drawings.
*Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with attention to detail.
*Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
*Certification: Professional qualification (e.g., MRICS, AAIQS) is advantageous.
