SEN Teaching Assistant
*Location: Wakefield
*Job Type: Part-Time and Full-Time (Full-Time Preferred)

Join our dedicated team at a leading SEN school in Wakefield, committed to providing exceptional education and support to pupils with a range of needs. Our students have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and require specialised assistance to thrive in their educational journey.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Individual Support: Provide tailored support to pupils with EHCPs, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs.
*Educational Assistance: Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
*Classroom Environment: Foster a safe and supportive classroom atmosphere.
*Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver holistic education.
*Progress Monitoring: Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to the teaching team and parents.
*Daily Activities: Support pupils with daily activities, including personal care if required.
*Behaviour Management: Implement strategies to manage challenging behaviour effectively.
*Resource Preparation: Help prepare learning materials and resources.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven experience working in schools or relevant transferable experience.
*Understanding of SEN and experience with pupils with complex needs, SEMH, challenging behaviour, and PMLD.
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
*Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
*Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
