Raw Materials
My Client, a family owned specialist manufacturer now has an excellent opportunity for a Buyer to join their team based in Rossendale. Working as part of a fast-paced Purchasing function you will ensure adequate availability of raw materials and Goods Not For Resale (GNFR) to meet the ongoing needs of the business.
Duties include:
*Place purchase orders as required to ensure timely receipt in line with the requirements of the business
*Proactively manage supplier order books to include order confirmations, expediting orders, and chasing late deliveries
*Building relationships with suppliers and negotiating best pricing for spot buys and contract requirements
*Identify, qualify, and on-board new suppliers from global supplier base
*Source new and existing raw materials from global supplier base using RFQ and sample process
*Ad-hoc project work and additional support to Senior Procurement Officer and Purchasing Manager
The successful candidate will have:
*Experience in a purchasing role - ideally within manufacturing
*MS Office 365 including Word and Excel experience
*Good understanding of supply chain processes and best practise with an awareness of impact to other areas of the business
*Demonstrates problem solving abilities
*Ability to be organised and to manage own time effectively
*The ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships and act as a team player
*High level of accuracy and attention to detail
*Ability to communicate effectively and be able to clearly explain issues to suppliers and colleagues
