Job Description:
BUSINESS ANALYST - 9 MONTH CONTRACT - OUTSIDE IR35
One of Loriens leading Public Sector clients is looking to bring on a highly experienced Business Analyst on an initial 9 month contract working hybrid in Edinburgh.
Assignment Deliverables
*Work with in-house developers, to understand how the proposed technical approach supports the business requirements.
*Produce clearly defined Product Backlog Items and user stories which have detailed descriptions and testable acceptance criteria.
*Document business rules and ensure these are captured as part of the acceptance criteria.
*Produce models to support the customers’ understanding of how the service will work.
*Deliver effective workshops to support the project
*Prepare and deliver ’Show and Tells’ to project stakeholders.
*Deliver excellent services by working with stakeholders and in house developers to triage bugs
*Supporting users to undertake User Acceptance testing and providing feedback to developers and the project team as needed
*Keep Stakeholders informed about project Progress.
Essential skills
*Experience of SCRUM methodology
*Excellent communication skills, including experience of translating complex information through the facilitation of workshops, interviews, or reports
*Experience of working with in-house developers to deliver a new bespoke service or adding new functionality to enhance an existing (bespoke) service
*Extensive stakeholder management and facilitation skills to articulate business requirements and translate these into project deliverables
*Advanced Visio and PowerPoint skills, and similar visual tools to aid requirements gathering
*Functional and non-functional skills requirements definition
*Experience of contributing to the estimating of backlog items
*Experience of working with developers to identify impact of requirements on the service, ensure these are documented
*Good problem solving, facilitation and influencing skills to reach consensus
Desirable additional skills and experience
*Writing Test Plans from Product Backlog Items ensuring that acceptance criteria are captured as part of the test plan.
*Methodical approach to testing using test plans and raising defects.
*Ability to support the launch and adoption of a new service through group meetings, writing user guides.
