Position: Company Accountant
Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme, UK
Salary: £40,000–£50,000 + Benefits
Are you a seasoned Company Accountant eager for a new challenge? Join a well-established building contractor renowned for delivering quality residential and industrial projects across the Midlands and Northwest. This role offers a unique opportunity to take ownership of the finance function in a growing company, with the potential to develop and lead a dedicated finance team.
Key Responsibilities:
*Preparation of monthly management accounts and detailed financial reports
*Management of cash flow to ensure robust financial health
*Overseeing credit control processes, including weekly reconciliations and client communication
*Ensuring compliance with tax, VAT, CIS, and financial reporting standards
*Mentoring and developing the finance team to drive exceptional performance
*Maintaining strong relationships with external advisors and financial partners
What We’re Looking For:
*ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified or qualified by experience (QBE)
*Proven experience in management accounting, ideally within the construction sector
*Proficiency in financial systems such as Sage 50, Excel, and Power BI
*Strong understanding of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS)
*Excellent communication skills and a proactive leadership style
