Title: Credit Controller
Salary: £30,000
Contract: Permanent, Monday - Friday 8:30 - 17:00

The Role:
As a Credit Controller, you will play a key role in the finance team, ensuring timely collection of payments while reducing the risk of bad debts. Reporting to the Head of Transactional Services, you’ll work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to deliver exceptional customer service while meeting cash collection targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of customers to ensure payments are made within agreed terms.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers through regular communication and efficient query resolution.
- Handle a high volume of phone calls and emails to manage collections.
- Update customer records to avoid delays in issuing invoices and statements.
- Log all collection activity in the accounts receivable system (Credit Hound).
- Process payments and manage direct debit mandates through the company’s operating system.
- Send copy invoices and statements as needed.
- Reconcile customer accounts and handle work in progress (WIP) statements.
- Escalate any significant issues to the Credit Control Team Leader.
- Ensure effective use of the query management system to track and resolve issues.
Ideal Candidate:
The successful candidate will have at least two years of experience in a credit control role, with a proven track record of meeting cash collection targets and reducing aged debt. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain excellent customer service standards are essential.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of two years’ experience
- Experience working with high transaction volumes.
- Proven success in cash collection and aged debt reduction.
- Proficient in customer account reconciliation and familiar with online portals
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- IT literate
