Position Overview
The Event Specialist role is ideal for individuals passionate about creating memorable experiences through meticulous event planning and stunning decorations. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse events each week, with the chance to gain hands-on experience in two critical areas: event planning and event decoration. Key Responsibilities
*Event Decoration: Set up, arrange, and create beautiful event backdrops, decor, and seating arrangements per client specifications and company standards.
*Event Planning: Coordinate event logistics, manage timelines, and ensure all event details align with client expectations.
*Client Interaction: Act as a representative of BU Events, professionally interacting with clients to understand and fulfill their vision.
*Team Collaboration: Work closely with other Event Specialists and support staff to efficiently execute event setups.
*Quality Control: Ensure that all event setups and decor meet BU Events’ high standards for quality and detail.
*Training and Development: Engage in ongoing training to improve your skill set in both event planning and decoration, contributing to the team’s collective expertise.
Skills and Qualifications
*Experience: Some previous experience in event planning, decoration, or related fields is an asset but not required. We welcome candidates at all levels of experience who are eager to learn.
*Skills:
*Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
*Creative and resourceful, with an eye for aesthetics in event decoration
*Excellent interpersonal skills and client-service orientation
*Adaptable, with the ability to handle multiple projects and changes in a fast-paced environment

*Physical Ability: Capable of handling setup and takedown of decorations, including lifting and moving equipment as needed.
*Availability: Flexibility to work mainly on weekends, with potential weekday engagements as the role grows.
