Overview

The Gallagher Charity and Healthcare Division is a very successful specialism based in Gallagher offices in Birmingham and London, with a national and international client base.
Within the division we operate several delegated authority facilities, the largest of which is our charity scheme. This is complex commercial combined and management liability-based product, which is exclusive to Gallagher, ringfenced to a team of underwriters who underwrite based on agreed licence levels, is white labelled and written on a bespoke, co-manufactured policy wording. The product is designed to meet the needs of voluntary sector organisations across all sizes.
This is a senior role to lead and develop the facility, the successful individual will have responsibility for our relationship with our scheme insurer partner, continue our agenda for growth, act as the relationship holder of the facility to both internal and external stakeholders plus sit within the senior management team of the Gallagher Charity and Healthcare Division.

How you’ll make an impact

*Director and ultimately responsible for facility delivering its external and internal KPIs across financial, operational and conduct risk metrics
*Responsible for whole facility, setting agenda, strategy, leading on all operational and compliance requirements, managing relationship with insurers and ensuring our facility is highly regarded both by our insurer partner and senior levels within Gallagher.
*Bringing your experience that is likely to have been obtained in an insurer, MGA or similar facility to continue our profitable growth, utilising your own experience combined with the success we’ve achieved to date.
*Working closely with and leading the underwriting and management team that currently operate the facility
*Taking internal referrals that fall outside of the underwriting licence of the rest of the team
*Internal and external annual review of the facility. Regulatory and insurer driven process and collateral compliance.
*Comply with AJG Professional Standards Manual in accordance with statutory requirements for role with specific attention, but not limited to Managing Client information, Whistle Blowing, Treating Customers Fairly
*Carry out duties following internal policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, good governance and Gallagher’s shared values putting clients at the heart of our business
*Being equipped to review and consider additional capacity provision in areas we should consider developing into not currently part of the remit of this facility.

About You

*Preferably ACII qualified or working towards the ACII qualification or equivalent
*Comprehensive knowledge of general insurance products and services including underlying legal principles and practices
*Strong insurer, MGA or similar experience and ability to demonstrate success and track record in areas relevant to our facility. Ability to operate at a hight level, able to ensure operations meet key KPI’s and anticipate future impacts to ensure the longevity, growth and performance of our facility
*Experience in underwriting to a high level – this doesn’t need to be specific to charities but the ability to demonstrate a strong underwriting track record with skills that would be transferable is important.
*Very good working knowledge of the regulatory environment of the key business unit jurisdictions
*Confidence to lead a team and represent that team internally and externally
*Be quipped to promote strong relationship with key stakeholder managers in both Gallagher and our scheme insurer partner
*Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable at communication and negotiation at a high level within Gallagher and our insurer partner.
