Job Description:
Role:
*Supporting the Origination team through the initial review of potential new business opportunities.
*Early underwriting of opportunities.
*Providing structuring knowledge, pricing of risk, and assisting in negotiating the Heads of Terms.
*Authorising the instruction of panel valuers and transaction lawyers.
*Reviewing applications for structure, purpose, reasonableness, and viability.
*Reviewing Credit Risk and Mitigants, Financial Crime, Valuation, Specialist Reports and Legal.
*Working collaboratively with in-house surveying and legal teams to diligence applications and identify risks or problems.
*Writing up or overseeing the written Credit Papers including Risk Assessments, Sensitivities, and Commercial Rationale.
*Presenting Credit Case Summaries.
*Working closely with Head of Legal on Facility Documents including special loan conditions and milestone dates.
*Working with internal and external legal counsel to ensure good and marketable title, security, and the appropriate management of legal risks.
Requirements:
*Experience in the real estate debt sector.
*Experience in development finance, especially residential, PBSA and care homes.
*Experience of underwriting, structuring and deal execution.
*Strong analytical and numerical skills.
*Ability to work in a fast-paced environment running multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
*Motivated to learn new skills and continue personal & professional development.
