As an Assistant Finance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient use of public funds within the Adult Social Care sector. Working closely with a team of finance professionals under the guidance of the Strategic Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include:
*Providing accurate financial information and advice to support informed decision-making.
*Leading and participating in various projects, while also handling regular financial activities such as closedowns and external returns.
*Collaborating with budget and service managers, offering financial and commercial input to help drive successful initiatives.
*Championing service improvement, outcome-based commissioning, and value for money within the organization.
The ideal candidate will have:
*Membership of AAT or be fully/part-qualified with CCAB, CIMA, or an equivalent professional body.
*Experience in supporting a service, including contributing to budget setting, management, and monitoring.
*Skills in financial modeling, research, analysis, and producing accessible reports for diverse audiences.
*Knowledge of project, program, and change management techniques is an advantage.
*Strong time management abilities and a proven track record of delivering to deadlines.
*Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders and budget holders.
*A proactive approach to understanding services, enabling accurate forecasting and effective financial challenges.
