Our client is one of the world’s leading independent insurance brokers. They are seeking a Senior Technical Accounting Manager to join their Financial Control team. Reporting directly to the Technical Accounting Director, this role will address complex, significant, and unique accounting challenges across the group, focusing on IFRS, FRS 102, and FRS 101. The position will also handle key accounting issues specific to individual segments or divisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical & Functional Expertise:
Proficient in regulatory, tax, legal, and accounting standards, with a specialization in technical accounting.
Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
Business Insight:
Strong written and verbal communication skills to simplify complex issues for various stakeholders.
Analytical mindset with the capability to question, investigate, and provide valuable insights.
Versatility in applying accounting skills to a range of tasks as needed.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Skilled in presenting concise, efficient, and professional reports to senior management.
Relationship Building & Self-Awareness:
Ability to foster strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Candidate Profile:
Essential Qualifications:
ACA qualified with extensive post-qualification experience.
Background in a Big 4 firm (external audit) and industry experience.
Strong expertise in IFRS technical accounting and policy formulation.
Exceptional writing and communication abilities.
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience with FRS 102/FRS 101.
Advanced Excel proficiency.
Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
Proactive, resourceful, and adaptable with an enquiring approach.
Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities both independently and in team settings.
Integrity and confidence when handling complex or business-critical matters.
Flexibility in work practices, priorities, and hours to align with business needs.
