Job Description:
Report to CEO
Role:
Perform all duties of the position of Financial Controller. Endeavour to be resourceful and an active team player within the broader team, providing highly professional, competent and skilled service.
Exercise any/all delegated authorities with due care diligence.
Principal Accountabilities:
Impact on the Business:
Expenses
*Manage full invoice process
*Process all invoices on Sage
*Make payments and reconcile bank accounts
*Forecast annual expenses
VAT
*Prepare and submit company VAT returns
Assets Under Management / Supervision
*Track AUM on management spreadsheet, updating all new clients and balances with their respective fees
Income
*Track income flows
*Track projected income flows per client
*Prepare quarterly fee invoices, ensuring calculations are correctly applied
FCA
*Prepare and submit all FCA reports in Gabriel
Audit
*Be the main point of contact for external audit
*Prepare any required information
Payroll
*Ensure full responsibility for the payroll process is taken, ensuring HMRC guidelines are met
Management Accounts
*Prepare quarterly board meeting reports
*Report figures monthly to CEO and Baord
*Maintain a 12 month business projection
Corporate Tax
*Forecast corporate tax which is due to be paid
*Ensure tax is paid appropriately online
Analysis
*Prepare forecasts and budgets
*Identify and monitor key financial risks to Arbion
*Consolidated reporting
*Implement a control process
Optional Effectiveness & Control:
*Actively minimise operational losses and control weaknesses
*Actively influence and participate in the development and refinement of the internal control/process environment
*Ensure appropriate and satisfactory systems are in place for monitoring our performance against plans and budgets
*Put in place an effective system of controls throughout the business, covering financial controls
*Ensure that operating objectives and standards of performance are not only understood but owned by management and employees
Observation of Internal Controls:
*Maintains Arbion internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points relevant to the business’s remit, together with any issues raised by external regulators.
Knowledge:
*Book keeping / Accountancy experience
*Administrative efficiency and good time management skills
*IT skills – knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, SAGE
*Evidence adherence to procedures
*Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
*Solid working knowledge of budgeting, sales, business development, and strategic planning.
*Ability to generate respect and trust from staff and external constituencies
