Job Description

We’re recruiting for aFinancial Reporting & Planning Manager to join us on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract basis. We’re offering acompetitive base salary, great benefits and the opportunity to support on the delivery of a robust and proactive expense management and financial accounting service for the L&G Retail division.

This will be achieved through the provision of relevant financial management information and key performance indicators that enable the business to meet its key strategic objectives of balancing scale, market share growth and profitability.

This a hybrid working opportunity that will allow you to split your working week flexibly between your home and the office; and whilst this role is advertised as being based from our Hove Offices we are open to the successful candidate being based from any of our Flagship Office Locations (Hove, Cardiff or London). What you’ll be doing: *Managing the monthly consolidation of expense reporting and regular reforecast activities for the Retail division, ensuring the integrity, completeness, and consistency of all results before submission to Group.
*Assisting with the monthly consolidation of IFRS, Solvency II and KPI reporting and regular reforecast activities for the Retail division, ensuring the integrity, completeness, and consistency of all results before submission to Group.
*Supporting with the communication of divisional results (both verbal and written) to Group and maintaining a close liaison with Group Expense Management and Group Performance teams.
*Supporting the provision of relevant management information for the Retail division that enables senior management to understand business results, improve performance and continually grow value. This will require close liaison with the Finance Business Partners and Financial Reporting teams.
*Supporting the development of innovative reports that show progress against divisional targets, KPI’s and OKRs, highlighting areas for improvement and recommending management actions where appropriate.
*Co-ordinating the annual/ 5-year expense plan for Retail and ensuring the relationship with the 5-year strategic plan is clearly articulated.
*Working closely with all Finance Business Partners to ensure that they understand requirements and timescales and deliver consistent results.
*Helping to define, build and refine the reporting and MI capability to ensure robust, accurate and timely financial and performance data. This will be achieved by using relevant business tools (e.g. Anaplan, Power BI etc), including the development and implementation of new reporting requirements in response to changing business circumstances and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications

Who we’re looking for: *A Qualified Accountant or Actuary (Part Qualified candidates may be considered if significant relevant experience can be demonstrated)
*Financial Management Reporting background
*Knowledge of the key drivers of IFRS and SII results as well as internal KPIs
*Understanding of the Retail market, including products, distribution, operations and competitive environment (is highly desirable but not essential)
*Experience of large scale, complex financial planning/forecasting/reporting cycles
*Experience of monthly expenditure reporting and analysis processes, i.e. MER, headcount analyses etc.
*Strong Excel and variance analysis skills (segmentation modelling and budgeting/forecasting techniques).
*Ability to work effectively to deadlines, by prioritising workload and using own initiative to ensure delivery.
*Ability to take ownership of tasks, and identify/resolve issues wherever possible and escalate accordingly when resolution is not possible.
*Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to liaise effectively with employees at all levels within the organisation - including across functions.
