Job Description:
Job Purpose

This position requires an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join the ICE communications team responsible for the communications of ICE’s futures exchanges and clearing houses globally. The role is a global communications role, based in London, covering the communications of the many asset classes which trade on ICE’s exchanges including across commodities, interest rates and equity derivatives.

The role involves interactions with media, colleagues, and stakeholders around the world. The position works closely with the wider communications team based in New York, as well as working closely with colleagues from Marketing and the Digital teams in New York, Atlanta, and Chicago. Experience working in communications through a PR agency or in-house would be helpful, or experience in journalism. The ideal candidate is interested in markets, keen to learn and enjoys forming relationships with new people, whether that is across the company, within the media or other external stakeholders. Personality and the ability to form relationships across the organization at all levels of seniority is critical. The candidate must be able to write, and be able to operate in a high pressure, fast paced environment.

Responsibilities
*Help execute public relations activities and initiatives including responding to media enquiries
*Sell in stories to media and help come up with story ideas for media
*Proactively drive social media communications
*Gain increasing responsibility for message development and the delivery of external messaging
*Support in the preparation and editing of corporate communications materials, including writing press releases and preparing messaging for interviews and conference participation
*Manage corporate media subscriptions, speaker requests and the distribution of daily news coverage
*Help manage website content

Knowledge and Experience
*Previous communications experience working in a PR agency or in-house role with experience working with the media, including conducting interviews with journalists; or previous experience in journalism
*Some experience working with the financial sector or energy markets would be helpful
*Exceptional and proven writing skills, including message development
*Ability to cultivate relationships across all levels of employee groups and geographies
*Experience with media relations and social media in a corporate setting
*Experience in evaluating media opportunities, collaborating across teams, arranging briefings, and executing interviews
*Experience working in a fast paced, deadline driven organisation
*Ability to deal with many constituents in challenging situations, to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities, meetings or demands
*Looking for someone who is self-motivated and a team player
*Confident presenter with strong oral skills
