Our client, a highly regarded and well-established audit firm, is seeking a Director to join its dynamic Corporate Services team in Cambridge. This is a full-time position offering an agile working policy, allowing for a blend of office-based and home-working. The role will require occasional travel to client sites.
About the Team
The Corporate Services team provides a comprehensive range of audit and assurance services, including audits of limited company accounts (UK GAAP and IFRS), LLPs, and charity and Not-for-Profit accounts. The team’s client portfolio is diverse, encompassing businesses of all sizes, from small enterprises to groups with multi-million-pound turnovers. This includes owner-managed businesses, subsidiaries of international groups, charities, and LLPs. The team’s reach extends across East Anglia and beyond, offering exposure to a broad and varied range of work.
The Role
This position offers significant progression opportunities and the chance to further develop your management, accounting, and client-facing skills. You will take on a key role in the day-to-day management of the Corporate Services Group in Cambridge, potentially overseeing a client portfolio spanning multiple offices.
As a senior team member, you will report directly to Partners and manage a team of auditors across various engagements. The role involves participating in all stages of audits, from planning through to fieldwork and finalisation for Partner review. Additionally, you will be expected to integrate into the local market through networking and business development activities, working closely with Partners and the marketing team to identify and secure new clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-day management of the Corporate Services Group in Cambridge, including training, mentoring, and team development.
- Reviewing assignments and working papers, providing feedback to team members.
- Managing a diverse client portfolio, communicating progress, resolving issues, and sharing financial insights.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Participating in networking and business development activities, including client tenders.
- Ensuring engagement profitability through effective billing and collections.
- Supporting team members and clients across multiple locations, with flexibility for occasional extended hours.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in Audit within a UK practice, with direct client contact.
- Qualified ACA/ACCA or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of audit planning and accounts preparation under UK GAAP.
- Familiarity with CCH accounts software or similar packages is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, flexible, and a strong team player.
- Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays.
- Full UK driving licence and access to own transport.
