Job Description:
ARM is recruiting for a Tug Mate to join our excellent client based in Dover, UK! Our client is the UK’s busiest international Ferry port, handling over 33% of the UK trade in goods, and welcomes over 11 million passengers each year.
This role is a 6 month fixed-term contract, working a 1 week on / off rotation. Ideally, you will live within commutable distance to Dover however, if you do not, accommodation can be provided (travel expenses not covered).
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Assist the Master with the day to day and efficient management of the vessel.
- Take responsibility the vessel and crew safety in the absence of the Master.
- Maintain and test safety equipment onboard.
- Maintain and monitor a safe working environment onboard.
- Assist with all bridge and administrative duties.
Certificates and experience required for the role:
- OOW Unlimited CoC issued by the MCA UK or UK FSE holder.
- Experience as a Tug Mate or similar.
- Good knowledge of the ISM code, Health & Safety and Navigation.
- Experience sailing on Azimuth Stern Drive vessels desired but not essential.
- Valid STCW certification and ENG1 medical.
- UK residence due to travel.
