KS2 Teacher *Annual Salary: To be discussed

*Job Type: Full-time, Temporary, Maternity Cover
*Start Date: January
We are seeking a dedicated KS2 Teacher to cover a maternity contract within the Alternative Resource Provision (ARP) of a mainstream primary school. This role is ideal for someone who has experience in supporting learners with ASD and related sensory and communication needs. The position involves teaching a KS2 class, where pupils are learning at levels broadly in line with years 1 to 3. This role is temporary covering a maternity contract until the end of the academic year.
Day-to-day of the role: *Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to the needs of students with ASD.
*Implement and adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the sensory and communication needs of the students.
*Utilise phonic knowledge to support early reading and writing skills.
*Monitor and assess the progress of students, adapting strategies as needed to support individual learning outcomes.
*Collaborate with other teachers, support staff, and specialists within the ARP to enhance instructional practices and learning experiences.
*Foster a nurturing and supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
Required Skills & Qualifications: *Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong background in KS1/ KS2.
*Proven experience working with children with autism and understanding their educational needs.
*Solid knowledge of phonics and its application in teaching early reading and writing.
*Ability to plan and deliver lessons that accommodate various learning styles and needs.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, staff, and parents.
*Commitment to professional development and staying updated with the latest educational practices and methodologies.
