Full Stack Developer - London
We are seeking a highly experienced full stack developer to join our team on an urgent basis, working for our client who are a a British organisation specialising in international cultural and educational opportunities.
Contract Length: Until 28th February 2024 (Rolling Contract)
IR35 status: Outside
Location: All UK Locations (1-2 days a week onsite in Stratford - ideally Wednesday & Thursday)
About the Role:
The client is embarking on a cutting-edge, greenfield project to revolutionize the way English is taught and assessed using advanced AI technologies. We are seeking a Full Stack Developer with strong Python, React, and TypeScript skills to join our innovative team. This project will involve building a dynamic learning platform driven by AI, combining speech recognition, natural language processing, and text-to-speech technologies to transform language learning for the future.

What You’ll Be Doing:
*Collaborating with the Technology Lead, product managers, experience designers, and subject matter experts to develop and optimize an AI-driven language learning platform.
*Building and maintaining scalable, high-quality software applications with a focus on user-centric design and performance.
*Contributing to the technical architecture of the platform, including making key decisions on technology stack and third-party services.
*Writing code in Python, React, and TypeScript, and helping to evolve and refine the current platform.
*Delivering high-quality code in short iterations, ensuring that business value is consistently met.
*Mentoring junior team members and reviewing code to ensure the highest standards of quality.
*Staying current with the latest web development and AI technologies, continuously innovating and improving the platform.
*Maintaining close communication with business users and experts to deliver iterative updates and improvements.
Key Requirements:
*Experience: At least 5 years of experience in agile software development, building web applications, and back-end services.
*Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Python, React.js, TypeScript, and cloud-based technologies (AWS, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.). Familiarity with PostgreSQL, GitHub Actions, and OpenTelemetry is also highly beneficial.
*Cloud & Infrastructure Experience: Strong experience working on cloud-based projects with a focus on scalable infrastructure.
*AI/ML Knowledge: Experience working with AI/ML-based applications is a plus, especially in language models or NLP-driven platforms.
*Agile Methodology: A solid understanding of lean and agile practices, with the ability to work quickly while maintaining code quality.
*Communication: Excellent collaboration and communication skills - you’ll be working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
