Financial Controller
About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Financial Controller to join an expanding finance team, supporting growth and enhancing strategic financial operations. This is a hands-on role, ideal for an experienced finance professional ready to collaborate closely with the Finance Director. Your contributions will drive business growth through robust financial management, process improvement, and strategic insight.
Key Responsibilities:
* Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
* Budgeting & Forecasting: Contribute to annual budgeting and periodic forecasting, analysing variances and recommending actions.
* Accounting Operations: Manage billing, AR, AP, GL, cost accounting, and revenue recognition to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
* Internal Controls & Compliance: Strengthen internal controls, document processes, and ensure regulatory compliance.
* Tax & Audit Coordination: Manage tax obligations with internal and external advisors and coordinate external audits.
* Financial Analysis: Provide insights to support decision-making and monitor financial performance.
* Cashflow Management: Ensure cashflow efficiency and approve weekly banking transactions.
* Team Leadership: Mentor the accounting team, fostering professional growth and development.
Essential Skills and Experience:
* 8-10 years in finance or accounting, with prior experience in a Controller or similar role.
* Strong grasp of IFRS standards, P&L management, and advanced Excel (including if, countif, sumif, vlookup).
* Proven attention to detail, organisational skills, and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Experience with Sage200 Professional.
* Professional finance qualifications (AAT, CIMA, ACCA) or active progression towards one.
