An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Associate or Senior Associate to join a leading international law firm, where the team handles high-profile and complex brand protection matters. The firm boasts a strong global presence, offering a dynamic and supportive environment for career growth.
Key Responsibilities: As an Associate/Senior Associate, you will have the chance to take on a high level of responsibility, working closely with senior team members and partners while managing your own workload. Your role will involve a variety of tasks, including:
*Managing national and international trade mark portfolios, delivering high-quality brand management support to clients across a range of sectors.

*Filing and prosecuting trade marks worldwide, including the UK, EU, and through the Madrid system.
*Drafting legal submissions and handling UKIPO and EUIPO proceedings.
*Advising on domain name and company name disputes, supervising the review of watch notices, and advising on potential oppositions.
*Instructing and managing foreign associates and overseeing their work, including reviewing and approving their invoices.
*Supervising junior team members and providing guidance to trainee attorneys.
The firm is looking for candidates with a strong background in trade mark law and a passion for brands. Ideally, you will have:
* Substantial experience managing trade mark portfolios and handling UKIPO and EUIPO cases.
*A CITMA qualification is preferred, though other qualifications will be considered.
*Experience in handling both contentious and non-contentious matters related to trade marks, including oppositions, cancellations, and portfolio management.
*The ability to work autonomously while managing client relationships and supporting junior team members.
*Strong communication, advocacy, and negotiation skills, with a keen attention to detail and commercial acumen.
*Experience working with foreign associates and managing cross-jurisdictional matters.
The position is within the firm’s well-established Technology group, which is renowned for its expertise in trade mark law and brand protection. The team advises a wide range of global clients and is recognized for its work in resolving complex trade mark disputes and managing international portfolios. You will be joining a diverse and inclusive team that fosters continuous development and offers excellent career progression opportunities.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual looking to take the next step in their career, with the potential for agile working and flexible hours. The firm offers a competitive salary £125,000-£150,000 and benefits package, including 25 days of annual leave, private medical insurance, and various lifestyle perks.
